Helena Tahir

Helena Tahir (b. 1992) works in painting, photography, drawing and printmaking. Her work is marked by a systematic research of the formal and narrative characteristics of traditional printmaking techniques and is thus actively involved in the contemporary printmaking world in Slovenia. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. Her solo shows include Somewhere Near at MGLC in Ljubljana, Poetics of Childhood at Ravnikar Gallery Space and V vrtincu at Božidar Jakac Gallery in Kostanjevica na Krki. Her work was part of group exhibitions Transformation of Image at the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb, SlovenIndia at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi, Zum Zoom Zoum at GapGap Gallery in Leipzig, Paperwork at Equrna Gallery, Paper Matters at UGM | Maribor Art Gallery, Something Ending, Something Beginning at Ravnikar Gallery and at viennacontemporary art fair. She is the recipient of the May Salon Award (ZDSLU) for best young artist.
